Morocco: a new super woman?!
Now I know that you don't visit this blog to hear about celebrity gossip. Nor to gaze at a picture that can be found on a website entitled, "Babes, boobs and fights." (Who knew that such sites existed?) But I have to say (in some embarrassed way) that I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the new Lara Croft -- that adventuresome, all-action, super woman -- is Moroccan. Karima Adebibe, a 20 year-old Moroccan, is apparently the new face of cyber-heroine Lara Croft, replacing Angelina Jolie.
Just in case you thought that this corner of the planet was not doing what it could to combat evil....
Adebibe's training for the role is said to have involved flying helicopters, archeology, elocution lessons and firing semi-automatic weapons. In one article I read, Adebibe states, "I'd come to the end of a day of doing SAS combat training and be really exhausted - physically and mentally ... I just had to dose myself up on vitamin C to keep going!"
Oh my...Well I don't know about you, but I'm off to stock up on vitamin C. Even if it's just to battle the weeds in my backyard....

I knew such sites existed, Maryam!

Hee hee... you can look like that from Vitamin C? I'm there!
I always loved Lara Croft... I know, she's a computer game but man, she kicks butt! I love that!
I also love Angelina Jolie but it will be great to see this new face! Thanks for posting about it!

Oh, I have a suspicion, that you need to be a super woman to benefit fully from those amazing powers of vitamin C... but that won't stop me from trying!

I heard about her a little while ago in a Moroccan MySpace group I'm in, wasn't exactly sure who she was. I have to say tho, Moroccan stars in American movies, now that, that is sweet! And no offence to Angelina,or any of her fans, but Karima is much prettier- not that it matters much.

"Babes, boobs and fights"...you must send me the link to that one Maryam;-)
I feel you can never get enough of Babes and Boobs. And if I thought, I was going to get in a fight with her, I might just find it within me to abandon my philosophical objection to fighting;-)

Wow!What a woman. That face. Those breasts. She couldn't possibly replace Angelina without having yowza breasts. Very fun post, maryam. Your posts are allowed to be shallow once in a while (it also brings out your delightful sense of humor).

Karima is half Moroccan, she had small role at "Alien vs. Predator" movie, no idea about her others movies, but I can tell you... within gamers community "we" love her! she is hot and way more "Lara Croft" than Angelina Jolie

She is a very beauriful woman.

I don't know if anybody could ever live up to Angelina Jolie, but I'm sure a woman from Morocco could surely try her best. :)

Hee, hee...
Excellent news worthy gossip... I'm quite fond of watching the very funny Tomb Raider films.
take care, g
(Think I best take some more Vitamin C too)

Eyechan- Aha! And does your girlfriend know that you know about those sites...? Hmmmm?
Regina-Believe me, if Vitamin C is all it took, I would be loading up left and right....
Magda-I actually don't take vitamins but would love to know if you do, and if you think they are worth it.
Intisar-I am just so happy to see a Moroccan break into the mainstream like that. Apparently she was pretty much an unknown.
Paul-I am NOT sending you the link!:-) I want you to be able to do other things in your life besides, ummm...you know. Like go to the grocery store and stay gainfully employed...!;-)
Gale-I agree a little dose of shallowness now and again. I really don't think that those yowza breasts of hers are all her own. They are ENORMOUS!
Adel- I just KNEW that you would know all about her, darling, and I can see I was right!!
Julie-Yes. It must be nice to be that beautiful. She is only 20! So young!
Zandria-Yes, she certainly doesn't have the name recognition as Angelina. Then again, so few do. I actually think Angelina is absolutely amazing looking, myself.
Gracia-I usually don't go to those films but I would go to this one just to lend my voice of support for Morocco!
Diane-I agree, she has that James Bond girl je ne sais quoi.

She is indeed beautiful... As my usual cinema buddies are both boys I'm thinking they're gonna like this one!

WOw - she is beautiful! I'm sure all the Lara Croft fans out there will be thrilled that she is going to be the new Tomb Raider heroine.

She's very pretty--and who knew? She definitely looks a bit more like the version from the game than Ms. Jolie but I doubt anyone is complaining either way.

I guess with Angelina over 30 now with kids and a 40+ year old boyfriend in tow, she's not exactly Lara Croft material for Hollywood these days huh? Had to be replaced with a 22 yr old North African hottie with a body.
Yeah, she's hot and okay, I'm green... But I want Angelina and these "older" chicks still working past 35, ya know???

Hi Maryam
I was doing a search on counterfeit joe's on google and I found your blog where you say that Joe's are you favorite jeans. Thanks for the publicity. Did you know that Joe was born in Casablanca?
He also just spent a week in Marrakesh.
Thanks
