Marrakech: and paper fantasies

Notebook_1If only I had the right notebook. I would write a novel.  I would write an opus.  I would charm you with my wit and wisdom.  I would dazzle you with facts astounding.  If only I had the right notebook, I would make plans, big plans, and they would be ingenious.  I would make timelines that actually worked.  I would perfectly print grocery lists, jot down the very best recipes.  If only I had the right notebook, I would never forget a birthday, I would never forget a number.  I would become an artist.  I would become a poet.  I would write a lyric, I would write a love letter, I would write the president.

Oh if only, yes if only, I had the right…… or the write……. notebook....

Notebook_2 Notebook_4

Arab-inspired notebooks from paperblanks, which believes in journals as functional art.

Many thanks to the lovely blog, The Art of Living for sharing the notebook secret.

P.S. Do hop over to the great blog winosandfoodies.com for a Moroccan muffin recipe.  Yum.

P.S. If there are any Australian readers coming to Marrakech soon, please drop me a line.  I have a favor to ask.  Thank you.

What beautiful Notebooks. I unfortunately am seeming to be losing the art of writing because the keyboard is becoming all consuming. You have inspired me to bring out my notebook and it sits now awaiting my attention! I do believe that ideas are so much more freeflowing through the pen onto paper rather than the computer.

They are wonderful - like little doors or windows.

Ooo...these notebooks hold so much mystery ...I wonder what magic spell you would see as you turn the cover...

Love the second one..

hi maryam! your blog is one of my daily treats. it is always lovely and so inspiring. i have even added your link to mine...

keep on writing...

cheers

wow, those are notebooks? At first, I thought they are beautifully crafted doors!

I have wanted to buy the 'write' notebook for some time. But every time I come across a beautiful, soft leather bound notebook...I talk myself out of buying it. I think I feel like I must write the next best thing to justify such an indulgence. But I am worth it, aren't I. We all are, I think.

Bizarrely enought, the black and silver one in the middle is the one I use. They are lovely journals ... and you just reminded me that I need a new one!

I'm intrigued...I'm not coming to Marrakech soon, but I AM Australian...

What gorgeous notebooks.

First visit here -- found you from Winos and Foodies. Beautiful blog! I'm teaching a course in tagine cooking in October, so I'll be reading through your posts for ideas and advice.

Too true. I am always buying notebooks but talk myself out of the most beautiful for fear I would ruin the illusion with my scrawled jottings!

Oh I think the same thing all the time, like with the right book and paper I would become the next Harper Lee, and write one novel that changes the way the world sees itself....

le sigh

Had never thought of the quality of the notebook being important.

Oh! I definitely have a thing for notebooks. These are just way too gorgeous, though. I don't think I could actually use them! :-)

Oh yes they gave great notebooks, I bought an Indiana Jones notebook two years ago and am still using it.

Hi, it's my first time here and I just can't get enough of the delicious eye candy that is filling your pages. Beautiful Morocco, oh, it makes me want to take a trip there !!

Your writing is very nice as well, anyway, enough with the flattery... I'll come back !

They are beautiful. I love notebooks, the beautiful ones. I always think I will use the, but I don´t, I just enjoy looking at them, becaouse they are beautiful! ;)

What a gorgeous notebook! I absolutely love your blog--it gives me a mini-vacation to a land I've never visited, each time I check in. Beautiful photos!

Thanks so much for stopping in at my blog and for the kind comment!

Warmly,
Susan

They're gorgeous! I love Paperblanks - I have two of the antique shoe/boot ones, and a lovely classic "tooled leather" one that I haven't used yet. I have to admit that I've been seduced in the last year by Moleskines, though.

Maryam~
I loved this post! Each and everytime I go into Chapters, I find myself in the journal section, where I pick up Moleskine's and pens and papers and I go crazy! These notebooks are totally drool worthy. Love em!
