The muse goes Danish....
oh I literally almost fell off my chair when I saw this. Look at what my Norwegian friend Katarina has made (with her own two bare hands.......!). Why it's my muse. How very perfect. And perfectly matched with the black ticking fabric.
And she has also made this bag with yet another Lehnert print.....
Why, oh why, don't I know how to make anything beautiful and useful? I don't cook well. I don't sew....at all, I don't knit....at all. Hopeless.......

Your beautuful creations are larger-scale and of world-wide scope, my dear....

Beautiful bag.
But you ARE an excellent writer.

Katarina, what a talent! So fantastically brilliant, devising a bag out of that perfectly gorgeous photograph. I love the modern twist she put on it, then I visit and see she is from Denmark, the land of the clean lines...and all was explained.
So beautiful. You deserve to be spoiled! It's your birthday week! You could celebrate all month at this rate.

But you know how to write...and you have a beautiful blog...and you have soul. ;)

Perhaps you were meant to do many other just as interesting and amazing things, such as your fabulous blogs(that has got me hooked) and don't forget Peacock Pavillions! AND you have great taste! What more could you ask for!

We each have our own unique gift and our own mark to make. And together we will ROCK the world, my friend! The world needs humanitarians, artists, and lovers of beauty as much as it needs breadmakers and statesmen. Surely you don't underestimate your contribution!

I had always wanted to be crafty, and to be good at making useful things. Eventually, I did the next best thing- I got a boyfriend who is crafty, and put him to work. -X

Thank you for your lovely comments on my bags!!

But you do!
This blog! It's both beautiful and useful!
How could anyone make such a bag without it?
Posted by:simon | October 28, 2007 at 08:27 AM
What a beautiful bag! I'd be afraid to use it, afraid I'd get it irrevocably dirty.
What a coincidence! I've got a Norwegian friend named Katarina as well. I'm guessing it's not the same one though, as my "friend" Katarina is only seven years old, and not really into designing her own bags yet... ;-P

All I can sew are pillowcase and curtains. My best friend designed and made own her wedding dress. I understand the pathetic feeling. I can crochet though. That bag is fab!

You know how to write exquisitely, you know how to take sumptuous photos, and most rare of all, you know how to create a living space so beautiful that everyone wants to be there!

I see things like the gift and think that I could do that, save up materials and manage to do nothing about it. I think that your talent is in your words, how you write and the pics you capture for us to see.

What a lucky girl you are. Not creative?.....yeah, right. Your hands may not be moving, but your brain is on overtime in the creative department.

What a beautiful bag! And you have your own unique talents, Maryam!

How very lovely and so thoughtful of her, too. And, of course, so well deserved, oh Maryam of Many Talents.
