Rwanda: and a brightly colored place

There is a saying in Islam that To save one life is the same as saving the whole world.  It was this lovely, oh-so-lovely notion that moved many Rwandan Muslims to save Tutsis during the genocide.

She headed down to the Muslim neighborhood of Kigali.   Although considered poor and chaotic by some, if you looked carefully you could see that it was actually rich and just right.  Its kitschy folk arty vibe made her feel like she might like to stay a while.  And everything you could ever possibly need was right at your fingertips....

There were clothes....
2traditional..........

4or modern.

And there were......

10shoes of all shapes and colors.

And one couldn't forget the.....

1 ahem, under garments...

And when you were dressed up just right, you might as well get your hair done...
5 here or here.  Or perhaps.......

9 right here.

And now that you were looking fine, you could....

7 call a friend and...

8 have a bite to eat...

11 or rent a car and have a little whirl about town.

She was busy whirling when she ran into a long lost cousin...

3  It was his eyebrows which gave him away........
