Rwanda: and the tale that never ended

Your emails and comments poured in, lifting me up from this dark place of sad stories.  Finally, after so many sleepless nights, I fell into a deep and dreamless slumber.  I am so grateful for your compassion, for your caring.

For those of you who pledged to help Vestine and others like her, thank you.  Your help means more than you can ever know.  Before I left her, Vestine told me this,

There was a time when all I wished was to die and be rid of this world.  But now, there are moments when I find myself smiling.  There are times when the world still seems like a beautiful place.  There are instants when I still feel some hope for my future.

So if you can, please give.  A little, or a lot, whatever you can afford.  You can make a contribution via paypal to the following address: Tammy.Cody@gmail.com.  And please also email me at maryam@mtds.com so I can thank you and share withVestine the names of those people around the world who reached out their arms to hold her.  You are proof that flowers grow even at night.

Flower

I leave Rwanda today (although I wonder if I will ever really leave).  Thank you for coming on this journey with me.
