She had had a new love for several years. He was handsome. He was warm. He was enveloping. He was exotic but hardworking. He had a way of making everything around him look better. You see, he had charisma. Ahem, rug charisma, that is.
He was the Moroccan Beni Ourain carpet.
But it seems that she would have to share her love. Because he was appearing in beautiful homes and hotels .........everywhere. She often found him when flipping open the pages of her favorite shelter magazines.
Sigh, there he was........

Now the Moroccan Beni Ourain carpet was no ordinary carpet. You see he managed to look good in just about any decor -- modern, traditional, or somewhere in between. If he were a dinner party guest, the hostess could seat him next to, why, anyone. From the feisty word traveler who had an opinion on everything. To the most chic Manhattan dweller who only wore black (and diamonds, of course).
He was..........a carpet chameleon............
Now the charming thing about the Beni Ourain is that although he might have legions of fans, if you had one, he really was all yours. Because no two Beni Ourain rugs were alike. Each was made painstakingly by hand -- no mass production, no factories, no Ikea catalogue.
All handloomed in soft wool, made high up in the Atlas Mountains where the weather was cold and the rugs were warm.......In a creamy golden beige with soft black/chocolate/taupe tracing. Equal parts masculine and feminine. So organic in the best possible way.
This blogging girl wanted only Beni Ourain carpets in her own great room at Peacock Pavilions. Fun but elegant. The perfect foil for everything else.........And so very lovely under the toes.........
How about you? A little Moroccan flair for your living room or bedroom? New stock of vintage Beni Ourain rugs for sale, picked with love and care by yours truly. Wholesale prices. Take a peek right here because you never know, you just never know....
