Morocco: a new super woman?!
Now I know that you don't visit this blog to hear about celebrity gossip. Nor to gaze at a picture that can be found on a website entitled, "Babes, boobs and fights." (Who knew that such sites existed?) But I have to say (in some embarrassed way) that I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the new Lara Croft -- that adventuresome, all-action, super woman -- is Moroccan. Karima Adebibe, a 20 year-old Moroccan, is apparently the new face of cyber-heroine Lara Croft, replacing Angelina Jolie.
Just in case you thought that this corner of the planet was not doing what it could to combat evil....
Adebibe's training for the role is said to have involved flying helicopters, archeology, elocution lessons and firing semi-automatic weapons. In one article I read, Adebibe states, "I'd come to the end of a day of doing SAS combat training and be really exhausted - physically and mentally ... I just had to dose myself up on vitamin C to keep going!"
Oh my...Well I don't know about you, but I'm off to stock up on vitamin C. Even if it's just to battle the weeds in my backyard....
