Every Saturday morning the blogging girl's small troublemakers were sent out to play in the mud.......Ahem, in the clay, that is....
At Arterre, a Marrakech potting studio for children (big and small).
In an inspiring little courtyard atelier
they would knead the clay.....
Or -- what fun! -- spin it.........
on a potting wheel just their size....
They learned about pigments and glazing...
From their very kind teacher
Who was quite a potter herself,.... {oh fantastical landscapes for tiny alien creatures.....cough, she meant vases, of course....}
Now the very best part was that visitors and tourists with children were most welcome, too:-) Children's sessions were held throughout the week and a convenient time was sure to be found. The 1.5 hour classes gave parents just enough time to dash -- child-free -- into a boutique or two in Marrakech's new city of Gueliz . Or savor a latte (known as a nouss-nouss, in Arabic) and a book at a cafe without interruption. Yippee!
